R E V I E W: Dr Dennis Gross - DRx dark spot sun defense sunscreen

Updated: Jul 18, 2023

It's been a minute since my last post so I thought I'd share my review on this sunscreen.

I've been making more of an effort to wear sunscreen daily to protect my skin and to help with my acne pigmentation. I have to say, I'm finding it quite difficult at times, let alone topping up every few hours.

My first time using this, I just slapped it and almost walked out the front door. Lucky for me, I caught my reflection in the window but Casper was staring back at me!

I was really shocked by the white cast that this sunscreen left? I tried vigorously rubbing the sunscreen in but it didn't do much for me. It wouldn't absorb into my skin but moved around...

This picture was taking after 30 minutes of me rubbing in the sunscreen AND removing a lot of the product. I use the 2 finger rule for applying sunscreen so it really wasn't much product. I had to completely remove the sunscreen and grab another.

This sunscreen is NOT brown skin friendly (and I'm on the much fairer side).

The texture of this sunscreen was quite thick so it was a struggle squeezing it out of the tube. I’d say it’s not really accessible friendly for people (those who have weaker hands/cramp easily etc). It also doesn't blend at all!

I tried to use this up by wearing it under foundation. However, it didn't work. No matter how long I waited before applying primer, the sunscreen would always move around. For me, personally it's not worth the hassle for the price point.

What I do love about this is that there’s no fragrance and the simple packaging of the bottle. It’s a twist top and the nozzle is quite small so it never got messy.

The sunscreen didn’t work for me but I’d still love to try their other products as I’ve heard a lot of positives!
